"This case study is the project of Luís Inácio Barros Lima (Guimarães 1764 - 1844) for the sanctuary of São Torcato. This is located in the village of São Torcato in Guimarães and, began to be built in 1825, having elapsed almost two centuries and numerous architects until its conclusion. (Cardoso, A., 1992, Puliga, M., 2014) The construction was started by the Capela-Mor, which will have been completed in 1855. Following the conclusion of the same, the construction of this proposal extended until 1866 when, at the request of Cesário Augusto Pinto, a public competition is held for a new proposal for the sanctuary, of which Ludwig Bohnstedt will have been the winner. This proposal, however, has been quite conditioned from the beginning, since the foundations of the sanctuary were already laid. (Anacleto, M.R.D.B.T., 1992, Oliveira, A.J.d. [et al.], 2023) Given the above, for the realization of this dissertation, unfortunately, not all the drawn pieces exist, namely, the Floor Plan and the exterior facades, both the main and the side. However, they are still in the possession of the brotherhood, the watercolored transversal and longitudinal sections that allow to understand the volumetry of the sanctuary."@en
