Description
The project for the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista, conceived by Mauro Guidi, is a significant example of religious architecture between 1761 and 1829. The church features a tetrastyle pronaos with three entrances, dividing the structure into three naves. Eight mixed-order columns with Doric capitals and Tuscan bases separate the naves and support a Doric entablature. The central nave has a vaulted ceiling culminating in a semi-dome, while the lateral naves have pilasters that support arches interrupting the lowered barrel vaults. The upper floor has two lateral rooms connected by a longitudinal room that opens onto an inaccessible balcony. The roof structure is based on trusses with inclined slopes. This project is part of a collection of over a thousand drawings by Guidi, documenting an architectural dream largely unrealized. The project documentation includes a ground floor plan, a longitudinal section, and a front facade elevation, using the Cesenate Foot, equivalent to 54 cm. To redraw the plan, section, and elevation, the diameter of the columns was established at 1.6 Cesenate feet (86.4 cm), a principal module repeated throughout the building. the model was created in rhinoceros 7 and later renderized on 3ds max,and photoshop for the post production. The model is designed for utilization within augmented reality (AR) environment.
