"The synagogue was constructed between 1911 and 1912 at the initiative of the Orthodox Jewish association Machsike Hadas. The architectural plans were prepared by Carl Friedrich, a builder and architect from Cieszyn, and the plot for the construction was purchased from Karolina Pohlner. The entire cost of construction was covered by the Machsike Hadas association along with private donors. The brick, three-storey building was erected on a rectangular plan. Inside, the main prayer hall—measuring 14 by 8.7 meters—extended through two storeys and featured women’s galleries on the second floor, each 6 meters wide. On the eastern wall of the main hall stood a richly decorated Aron Kodesh, with a bimah located in front of it. In the basement, there were two mikvehs: one for men and one for women. The synagogue shared one wall with an adjacent tenement house. On September 2, 1939, shortly after the outbreak of World War II, the synagogue was set on fire by the Nazis. Its ruins were later removed. Since the end of the war, the site has remained undeveloped and unused."@en
